Our Story

I'm the founder of Matte Equation—but before that, I was just like everyone else. Living a busy life, caught in the endless cycle of trying to get ahead, look good and meet the expectations of a “perfect” life. But then life forced me to slow down, and that’s when everything changed.

It all started with a mud mask. That simple act of self-care—taking off my glasses, applying the mask, feeling it set and subtly harden—made me stop. For once, I wasn’t rushing. I wasn’t focused on how I looked. I was forced to be still, with just my thoughts, learning to relax. That was my turning point: self-care isn’t about fitting into some prescribed routine or trying to look perfect. It’s about finding what works for you. It’s about feeling good, not just looking good.

Matte Equation was born from my personal journey to find balance in life. I realized that our bodies carry us through so many versions of ourselves. They change, and that’s okay. We have to let go of the pressure to look good and focus on feeling good. Skincare, to me, is a part of that—something we can all customize to our own needs, environments and lives.
